Celebrating Two’s Day!

Two's Day

This year, February 22 is a special day.  Not only because the year is 2022, but also because it lands on a Tuesday, making this the ultimate Twos’ Day (2/22/22).

Celebration Kick Off

You can kick off Two’s Day with some exercise:

Or dancing to a few “two” songs:

Coloring Time!

If your kid’s into coloring, they might enjoy these coloring activities you can add to your Two’s Day fun.

Happy Two’s Day paper crown

For the crown, you will probably need an additional piece of paper to make extensions.  Cut off the extensions the width of the crown sides and the length you need to go around your kid’s head.  Then you can use tape to put the pieces together and close the crown.

A book and a snack

Depending on your child, you might want to have a snack while coloring.  Why not snacks that come in twos such as Twix, Twinkies…or maybe pears (wink wink)?

If eating snacks while coloring is just not possible, how about snacks while reading?

(Pssst!  On YouTube, you can find the read-aloud for Two of Everything and No Two Alike.)

Download these bookmarks! (Use cardstock for sturdiness.)

Number Fun

You can get some math in this upcoming Two’s Day with these sheets.

Fun with Letters

Work some vocabulary with this compound words activity. I’ve included a blank rainbow sheet just in case you prefer to use your own compound words.

If you want some science fun, you can get your kiddos to try to make a boat using only two types of material. For an extra challenge, the boat needs to stay afloat when 2 small items (like Lego blocks) are put on it.

Another fun science activity is the liquid density activity like the one here at Home Science Tools. You can start out using only 2 liquids at a time to see if they mix or not.  For an extra challenge, experiment to find which items sink in both, which float in your top liquid, and which items sink in your top liquid yet float on your bottom one.

Even if it’s something you’ve never done before, have fun on this special Two’s Day!
